First Stone project

First Stone project

I forgot to take pictures because I was so excited to start but this is fairly early in the process. For my first project I am working on squaring a irregular piece of stone. Here you can see where we scored the block, and I have cleaned up the rough edges on one side. The next step is to work down all the excess stone on the other side of the line.

At the end of the day I had gotten it to this point. It is important to not take away too much stone at one time or you may crack the block. Everything is controlled and methodical.
