Dorchester State Park Project

Dorchester State Park Project

For this project we were to build a platform around a tabby wall section at the Dorchester State Park. Originally the tabby wall was free standing in an area prone to floods. The area would become very muddy. On the first day we drew up an example of the finished project and then laid out our lines. Then we poured a concrete footer. The second day we built the platform walls. Then we infilled with "crush and run" and then tamped it down so the infill was level. We then laid out courses for the pavers, and when they were set, filled the joints with a mortar wash. Finally we cleaned off excess mortar from the surface with muriatic acid and water to clean it off.
